VTOL Company Elroy Air Reaches Major Flight Milestone

For vertical takeoff and landing aircraft known as VTOLs, the technical path from vertical takeoff to horizontal flight is anything but a straight line that can take years to achieve. But when it happens, it represents a major milestone called “transition.”
That’s the milestone Elroy Air has reached three times since July 31 with its Chaparral autonomous, hybrid-electric VTOL, the San Francisco-based company announced Thursday.
